I tested this in my daughters room, I diffuse Lavender and Chamomile, the total volume was 5ml, I programed the pump to start at 6:30pm this way at 7:30 when it's night night time her room would be nice and scented, then I have it run for 30min every hour and a half until 7:30 am, the 5ml lasted for 3 nights, which is awesome when you know that in other diffusers you will use 5ml in a couple of hours. The amount of oils used up also depends on the oil some diffuse faster than others. I'm trying to put a list together but I'm not quite fininshed with all the oils.
 
You can program the pump to start and stop at any time, or to run for 30min off for 30 and so on, what ever combination you like, but you really only need it to run for 30min every hour and a half that is all you need to get the full therapeutic benefit and enjoyment from a Nebulizer diffuser.

You will never hear the Professional Model Top-Load with Tube because it is virtually silent!, I only hear it when I have it all the way on high. But remember it's not necessary to have it on high to benefit from the therapeutic effects of Pure Essential Oil droplets diffusing into the atmosphere. I only use it on high when I want to scent up the house if I have guest arriving soon, or when I fry fish that kind of stuff. :-))
